Bandon Road Corridor Upgrade and Extension - Sections 3 and 4

The Bandon Road corridor in Vineyard, in the North West growth corridor of Sydney, is being upgraded. 

The project will be delivered in stages. Early works comprise a new car park at Vineyard Train Station, a new bus stop and intersection and safety improvements. Main works will comprise:

  • widening Bandon Road to a dual carriageway between Richmond Road and Windsor Road
  • central median to accommodate future widening to six lanes
  • shared path for pedestrians and cyclists
  • grade-separated crossing of the Richmond railway line at Vineyard
  • delivery of upgraded and signalised intersections
  • pedestrian bridge connecting Riverstone Parade and Wallace Road
  • upgrade and realignment of Wallace Road, including improvements to the designated flood evacuation route
  • upgrade the Bandon Road flood-evacuation route between realigned Wallace Road and Windsor Road, and
  • a new Southern Connection Road, including improvements to the flood-evacuation route.

PROJECT HISTORY

Aug 2016 The Bandon Road corridor was put on exhibition.
Jul 2019 The corridor was finalised
Oct 2022 The Federal Government allocated $75 million for the project in its 2022-23 Budget.
Jun 2024 The NSW Government allocated $75 million for the project in its 2024-25 Budget.
Mar 2025 The contract for the project's concept design was awarded to Arup.
Nov 2025 RFTs for the project's Transaction Advisory Services were opened.
Jan 2026 The NSW Government opened Registrations of Interest to deliver the project.
