The Bowmans Creek Wind Farm is a proposed wind generation and battery storage project located 10 kilometres east of Muswellbrook, in the NSW Hunter-Central Coast Renewable Energy Zone. The project has been proposed by Ark Energy.
The project is expected to be delivered across two stages:
- Stage One: installation of 54 wind turbines and battery energy storage system with a capacity of 250 megawatts / 2,414 megawatt hours, and
- Stage Two: installation of 21 wind turbines.
- Stage One: installation of 54 turbines with a generation capacity of 335 megawatts (MW) and supporting infrastructure.
- Stage Two: an additional 21 wind turbines delivering 120 MW of generation, bringing the project's total generation to 455 MW.
The project includes 14 kilometres of overhead and seven kilometres of underground, 330-kilovolt transmission lines to connect to TransGrid’s existing Liddell substation.
