PROJECT HISTORY

Nov 2017 The Office of Environment and Heritage approved the project following community consultation. Roads and Maritime Services is completing a detailed design for the section.
Nov 2018 The $140 million Eastern section of the Mona Vale road Upgrade, which involves widening and upgrading 3.2 kilometres of Mona Vale Road between Foley Street, Mona Vale and Manor Road, Ingleside, was awarded to Georgiou in November 2018. Construction is to commence in February 2019 with completion targeting in 2021.
Jun 2022 The 2022-23 NSW Budget allocated $340 million to the project over the next four years, including $25 million in FY2022-23.
Jun 2025 The 2025-26 NSW Budget includes $190 million over four years for the Mona Vale Road West project, including $16 million in FY2025-26.
Jun 2026 The NSW Budget committed $266 million to the project in its 2026-27 Budget, including $65 million for FY2026-27.
Jul 2026 Transport for NSW has issued a Request for Tender seeking transaction management services, closing 4 August.
Jul 2026 Transport for NSW commenced an Expressions of Interest process for the project, closing 11 September.
