The project comprises a staged upgrade of State Highway 6 at Hope in the Nelson–Tasman region, including corridor improvements between the Lower Queen Street/Gladstone Road intersection and the SH6/Link Road roundabout.
The project is expected to be delivered across two stages.
Stage One:
- a new grade separated interchange on SH6 at Salisbury Road Extension (local road over)
- upgrading the Richmond Deviation from two-lanes to four lanes
- widening Lower Queen Street and Gladstone Road, and
- signalising the intersection of Lower Queen Street and Stratford Street .
Stage Two:
- new four-lane grade separated interchange at Lower Queen Street
- a four-lane Richmond bypass, and
- new two-lane roundabout at SH60 intersection.
